Italian Brooches and Pins
A pin or brooch is an item of jewelry or decorative jewelry designed to be hooked on one apparel such as jackets, blouses, shirts or dresses.
The pins are generally made of precious metal like silver or gold but sometimes bronze or other less valuable materials. Often the pins are decorated with enamel or precious stones. Their use can be purely ornamental, but may also serve to hold together layers of fabric.
The use of pins was already fashionable among the ancient Romans and Greeks among the Celts, however, the oldest pins found in Europe date back to the Bronze Age.
